Rogue Spirit is a beautifully stylized rogue-lite action game with stealth elements and a unique body-possessing mechanic. Working on it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my career. During my initial conversations with the talented team at Kids with Sticks, I was captivated by this unique mechanic and the graphic style, reminiscent of the works of the legendary Studio Ghibli. The main objective when designing the UI was to align with the shaders created by the Technical Artists, so most of the interface elements are drawn and maintained in a cartoonish spirit (you see what I did there?). Throughout the project, I was responsible for the entire graphic design of the UI as well as UX solutions—from prototypes, through mockups, to the final production of assets and their implementation using UMG.

HUD & UI
Below, I present a few in-game screenshots showcasing selected elements of the interface. As is usually the case, we went through many iterations during production, and in some instances, we had to make various compromises for different reasons. Therefore, the latest version may, of course, differ slightly from the screenshots shown here.

Title Screen
The title screen welcomes us with an idyllic scene from the Kingdom of Midra. I wanted the time of day depicted to match the real time when the player launches the game, so the image that greets us is determined by the computer's/console's clock.
